DONNELLY HOMESTEAD

Our visit to and tour of the Donnelly Homestead were to learn more about the story of the Donnelly family and the history of the area. Any paranormal "extras" that showed up in videos, pictures, and evps were a bonus but they were not our main objective.
Please note that this is a Private Residence and that although it is not a “historic” site nor is it a museum, the oral presentations given emphasize the historical nature of the tragedy of February 4, 1880. Mr. J. Robert Salts will give a fascinating presentation of the history of Lucan and the events that lead up to the massacre of five of the members of the Donnelly family. During his oral presentation, original photographs and artifacts will also be shown. Aspects of the paranormal are touched upon, but the main focus of the Tour is of a historical nature. The Donnelly Homestead Tours are open until 5 pm only and should be booked in advance. Please telephone ahead to book an appointment. Please remember that as enthusiastic as we may be with our paranormal investigations, it is our responsibility to ensure that the privacy and wishes of the home and/or land owner is respected. We wouldn’t want uninvited guests traipsing around our property at all hours of the day or night.

NOTE: In addition to the "evidence" that turned up in the pictures, evps, and videos, there were other indications of spirit presences during our visit. Some of us sensed presences around us in various locations. Also, when I was standing at the massacre site alone (Rob and Margaret having gone on toward the barn), I heard footsteps in the leaves near me. In addition, as I made my way toward the barn, at one point I heard a man's voice and at another point I heard a woman's voice.
HOUSE
Out of respect for the privacy of the Salts family, no pictures, videos, or evps were taken inside the house. However, pictures were taken of certain windows from the outside of the house. In the third and latest edition of Mr. Salts' book, "YOU ARE NEVER ALONE Our life on the Donnelly Homestead", he includes pictures of one of these windows, which show figures looking out of the window at a time when no one was in the house. Both Margaret and I also captured figures in the windows.
