HOMER CEMETERY

Homer Cemetery is located near the Homer Bridge on the outskirts of St. Catharines and Niagara.  It is a relatively small cemetery with gravestones dating to the 1700’s.  On the far left of the stairs is a cairn with a plaque which reads:

“AT OR NEAR THIS SPOT IN THE YEAR 1705 OR EARLIER, WILLIAM READ, UEL, AND A BAND OF BRITISH SUBJECTS AMIDST THE PINE FOREST ERECTED THE FIRST ANGLICAN CHURCH IN THE DISTRICT OF NASSAU ‘NIAGARA’ IN WHICH DIVINE SERVICE WAS HELD BY THE REV. ROBT. ADDISON.

THIS GOD’S ACRE AND CHURCH WAS DEEDED TO HOMER EPISCOPAL CONGREGATION IN THE YEAR 1799.

Margaret and a friend, Janice, who was visiting from England, decided to visit Homer Cemetery on October 28, 2004.  They were only there for 15 minutes.  Janice shot some unusual orb pictures with her digital camera and Margaret captured several orb shots as well.   After reviewing the digital recordings made, Margaret found the following evps:  "Pete Ball is with you", "Please don't fire", and "Good-bye".    Click on the names to hear the evps.  Although not as clear as we'd like them to be, they are interesting.
Janice and Margaret decided to re-visit the cemetery the following morning to see if they could locate a headstone with the name Peter Ball.  They didn’t find one for Peter Ball, but did locate a very old headstone that read, “Amy, wife of Peter Henry Ball”.  The rest of the inscription is difficult to read.  This headstone was located directly behind the tree stump with the unusual orb in front of it.

Thanks to Janice for letting us post her pictures.  (The last picture in this group is a negative of the one right before it.)

Wendy and Rick visited the Homer Cemetery on Jan. 1, 2005, approx. 11:00 p.m.  Rick took the following pictures, showing a lot of orbs in  the same area as the ones in Janice's photos.
