WILBERFORCE INN in LUCAN, ONTARIO
November 6 and 7, 2004
The Wilberforce Inn, Lucan, Ontario
The Wilberforce Inn is located just outside of London, Ontario at 161 Main Street, in the town of Lucan. The Demas family own the Victorian Style establishment which features four renovated guest rooms as well as a full-service restaurant. The “Wilberforce” name was chosen because the present Lucan area was called Wilberforce in the early 1800’s, named after a very prominent British anti-slavery crusader, and was settled through the Underground Railroad by African Americans. In the early 1900’s, the Wilberforce Inn was town Post Office and Postmaster’s residence.
